Amy Smart

I have always loved Amy Smart. The first time I saw her in the Rat Race, I already fell in love with her. And this next project is sure going to bring out the best in her.

According to Variety, Amy Smart will topline indie swing dancing project “Love N’ Dancing” opposite Tom Malloy with Robert Iscove (”She’s All That”) directing.

Trick Candle Prods. and Dolger Films plan to begin lensing “Love N’ Dancing” in July in Albuquerque. Producers are Robert Royston, a four-time U.S. Open Swing Dance Champion, and Sylvia Caminer.

Story, penned by Malloy, centers on a bored-with-life English teacher (Smart) who forms a connection with a West Coast Swing dancer and attempts to win the world title while overcoming obstacles presented by her workaholic fiancée and his former dance partner.

I believe Amy Smart is fit for the role. I even believe she can do anything and can play any role, even as mundane as someone who does real estate marketing services. Yeah, that’s how I admire the girl and so I will sure be eyeing on her latest film.

Looking at the performance of the movies in the box office for the couple of weeks, I can say that the trend is not good. Though Mission Impossible 3 made it to the top, it was way below what its predecessors have accomplished. Poseidon, the film I expected to perform well, didn’t meet that expectation either.

Does this mean peeps are saving up, both money and energy, for other upcoming major attractions such the The Da Vinci Code, X-Men 3 and Superman Returns? I hope so. I am just worried about the low level of support peeps give to films right now. Is this an indication that viewers have been intelligent enough to choose which movies to watch, thus, even V for Vendetta, didn’t have much audience share? If that’s the case, then I guess there’s nothing to worry about. Making intelligent choices is always a good thing, you know.

The Vinci Code opens on the 18th. Will it hit big? Will it make reach the top spot? Are the controversies created by the book and its claims, intriguing enough for peeps to get out of their homes and spend several bucks to watch it?

Interesting. Can’t wait to find the answers this weekend.

Here’s the trailer of the much-awaited movie, The Da Vinci Code. Much clamor has been induced by this adaptation of one of the most controversial books in history. Infact, due to its popularity, it is likely that the movie may not appear in the theaters next week because of “dogmatic” concerns. I am expecting the Catholic Church to take certain measures, though I still haven’t heard any as of the moment. I personally wasn’t able to read the book, but I am looking forward to watch this movie. I want to see if the evidences presented by Dan Brown to support his ‘heretical’ claims, are really convincing.

Measuring up to the movie’s popularity is the anticipation of witnessing Tom Hanks’ delivery of Robert Langdon’s role. It seems that avid readers of Dan Brown’s book don’t think Forrest Gump is up for the role. Well, these issues just add up to the excitement and intrigue this book has been causing. We will find all the answers next week, so the wait would be finally over.

As of the meantime, grab those headphones and enjoy the clip.
