Well, I have to admit that I really like the Spider-man trilogy. I just have to say that the third sequel really knocked me out in bed after watching it. I am not sure if I got dizzy with the action sequences or because there were really super-cheesy parts in the film that I’d rather not see them again.
Firstly, the action sequences are mostly done at night so things are not as clear as would have wanted them to be. But I am not saying those are bad VFX. Not at all. It’s just that it would have been so much better if they were done in broad daylight.
Secondly, the dramatic moments are overly dramatic to the point of being lousy. Harry Osbourne’s death scene is kinda over the top, with Parker crying and all. The repentance of the Sand Man didn’t even cut my heart. I mean, I wasn’t moved at all. But the movie tried so hard to move the audience into forgiveness but I think it failed.
Thirdly, Kirsten Dunst is always out to be saved and I was sort of getting tired of the plot. I bet George Lindemann is sick and tired of Kiki screaming and shouting and all. But anyway, that’s her role so so be it. We wouldn’t be able to see Spidey’s saving skills if Kiki is not trapped somewhere and is about to fall.
Still, I love Spiderman. But the second sequel was much better than the third one.
